Bronze Vase 1829, bronze medal, published by Thomason.
Obv: a view of the vase, details around
Rev: a different view of the vase, more details around
Condition: Good extremely fine
Diameter: 52mm
References: BHM 1359
Notes: the original vase was a classical marble piece which stood at Warwick
Castle until 1979. The bronze cast was an exact copy, including the enormous
dimensions of 21ft in circumference and 5ft10in in height. The copy now
stands near the east terrace of Windsor Castle. As Thomason made both
the vase copy and published this medal to celebrate the vase, he was clearly
proud of his achievement.
