Obv: conjoined busts of Earl Grey, Lord Russell and Lord Brougham left

Rev: the British lion tramples on a hydra, CORRUPTION DESTROYED, PURITY RESTORED above

Condition: Almost as made with prooflike quality

Notes: The peers featured on the obverse were proponents of the bill to do away with the corrupt parliamentary system of ‘rotten boroughs’. After a troubled passage, the Bill was passed on 7th June 1832, thereby beginning the British democratic electoral precedure we have today.
