Notes: Birmingham’s new Town Hall was opened with a concert for
the benefit of the General Hospital on 7th October 1834. One of the architects
mentioned on the medal (JA Hansom) also patented the horse-drawn cab of
that name. The Town Hal's exterior is still much
as featured on this medal.
