Notes: Birmingham’s new Town Hall was opened with a concert for the benefit of the General Hospital on 7th October 1834. One of the architects mentioned on the medal (JA Hansom) also patented the horse-drawn cab of that name. Currently the Town Hall, the exterior of which is still much as featured on these medals, is the subject of some long-needed restoration.
