Obv: Mitred St Mungo standing almost facing, holding crook and salmon

Rev: caduceus, scales, sword, open book and other symbols within ‘celtic’ border

Edge: engraved award inscription to Sarah Mellick for Medicine

Condition: Extremely fine in fitted case of issue

Diameter: 40mm wide by 62mm high

Notes: the college was founded in 1876, incorporated in 1889 and in 1947 amalgamated with Glasgow University’s Faculty of Medicine. St Mungo (d.613) is revered as Glasgow’s founder, and is its patron saint.
