Notes: The text is taken from Burns's Green Grow the Rushes O, the complete context being:
Auld Nature swears the lovely dears,
Her noblest work she classes, O;
Her 'prentice hand she tried on man,
And then she made the lasses, O.
The medal was issued in an edition of just 52 and is thus rare. It is also a medallic sculpture of great charm and humour.
