Rev: the arms on a shield of John Wornham Penfold, THE GIFT OF JOHN WORNHAM PENFOLD HONORARY SECRETARY 1893 below, award inscription on border around to Gerald Hooper

 

Condition: Extremely fine or better, a few light surface marks to obverse field, a scarce and attractive medal

Notes: John Wornham Penfold (1828-1909), architect, resident of Haslemere in Surrey; designer of the octagonal letter boxes introduced by the Post Office in 1866.
