Notes: St Catherine's spring stood on land owned by Mr Cachat near Evian. In the late 18th century he began selling the water in bottles, claiming beneficial effects. In 1824 the spring was renamed after him and now Evian water is sold in large quantity worldwide. This medal also refers to the opening of the Evian baths in 1902.
