Condition: Extremely fine; scarce References: MI 609/271 (rare); E 606; Woolf 55:5 Notes: The battle was brief and decisive. Government losses were slight, official figures citing less than 60 men and officers killed, whilst the Jacobites lost somewhere in the region of 1500. The defeat at Culloden put paid to Charles Edward Stuart's desire of gaining the British throne, and he escaped to the Continent, living an unhappy life in exile.
