George II, Coronation 1727, silver medal by John Croker, the official issue


Obv: laureate armoured bust left of George II

Rev: King enthroned on King Edward's chair, holds orb and sceptre, and is crowned by Britannia who also holds a cornucopia whilst leaning on a fasces, VOLENTES PER POPULOS around (by the will of the people), in exergue is date of the coronation


Condition: Extremely fine, an attractive reverse tone, original lustre to obverse, small scratch before nose, medal much better than photographs!; Diameter: 34mm
