This is a unique group of family agricultural medals resonant in the history of the Black family and their association with Milnathort and Kinross-shire

Here are a few 'snippets' I found out about the family:

a) Kinross-shire Agricultural Society : The William Belfrage Black Trophy presented to the Society by Mrs. Margaret Black, for the winner of the "Quey
Derby" (Class 4) - this is still awarded annually.

b) Kinross-shire Agricultural Society: The Blackface Centenary Challenge Trophy which was presented by the late J. Belfrage Black Esq., of Tillwhally, is awarded annually.

c) [I like this!] In the Kinross Museum is a piece of shrapnel from a land mine. Apparently it fell near Tillywhally House on 4th November 1940, entered the study window, narrowly missing James Belfrage Black!

Price for the group £495
