Ref: 2376

Ireland, James II, emergency Gunmoney Shilling, January 1689 (S 6581M). Good very fine, scratches before bust.

Price £125

Notes: the "Gunmoney" series was issued by the exiled James II as he attempted to regain the British throne by defeating William III in Ireland. They were issued as a token coinage which would be redeemed for sterling silver coin when the war was won. Of course, History had other ideas.
