Obv: a nude winged female holds a shield upon which a seated naked youth paints the word ART, around ARS LONGA VITA BREVIS (Art is long, life is short)

Rev: SCHOOL OF PAINTING A.S COPE J A NICOL on ribbon over laurel sprig

Condition: Good very fine, scarce; Diameter: 57mm

Notes: The obverse legend is part of an aphorism by Greek philosopher Hippocrates.
